Do you remember your favourite Nursery song?

I remember  when I heard this kind of songs and close my eyes... I am be able to  return to my child period for a while.
My favourire nursery song was La reina Berenguela.I remember when I used to celebrated my birthdays at th park and I always wanted to dance this song with my friends and my family making a play invented by us, that consisted in making a circle with one peron inside, and when the song said ''LAIRO LAIRO LAIRO'' the person who was inside the circle had to make a movement or a littel dance in order to the rest of the circle copy him or she, and when the person inside finish the movement , he or she had to sign another person to go inside again. I remember it very funny!

  1. How can you use these chants in class? Which are the English equivalents to these Spanish examples? Why are they used in education? Let's see if you can reflect a little bit more on the educational aspects of the topics seen in class. Keep on working hard :)

    1. I am very grateful for your comment Raquel, I have looked for equivalents of these Spanish songs and I have not found the same songs in English but there are a lot of them different in this language as you know.
In my opinion at infant and primary education children are very receptive and it is important look for resources which helps to motivate students and also to improve their expression and communicative skills.
I think songs are a very useful resource for children to learn in a funny way. One of the reasons from my point of view is because the rhythms help students to memorize the contents inside the song; another one is that the teacher and the student can make gestures during the song for doing it more funny and complicated and this also helps students to learn the song and improve their expression skills as I have noted before.
Of course the main reason is that usually children loves music and dance and teachers can exploit it looking for ways to introduce the music in their lessons

  2. Hi Maria!!
I really like your post! When we were in class, I also remember my favourite rhymes when I was Young. More or less are the same that you! But my favourite one is "El patio de mi casa", I sang this when I was in my first years at the school, and I has also remembered my favourite teacher in Infant Education. She was singing with us all the time, and I learnt a lot with her while I enjoyed. =)
